Welcome!  – The Scandinavian Centre  is a Cultural Community Hall located in NW Calgary.  Our Hall Rentals are available to the public for Wedding Receptions and private Events.  We provide a facility for our Internal Scandinavian / Nordic Groups  from Finland, Iceland, Norway & Sweden to meet and provide their cultural activities and events.  The Scandinavian Cultural Society hosts events such as the Annual Scandinavian Choir Concerts, Stampede Breakfast and Scandinavian Christmas Bazaar.

Casino Volunteers NEEDED Jan 29 & 20, 2023

Scandinavian Cultural Society of Calgary - Needs Volunteers at for our group's Casino on Sunday Jan 29 and Monday Jan 30, 2023 - which will support our Society through the difficult year ahead.  It is at the new location for the Cash Casino at 40 Aero Crescent NE (turn off Deerfoot Tr onto Airport Rd) We have created a Sign up Genius for our Casino Volunteers to signup, it can be seen at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4DAEA72DA5FACE9-casino Email scanctr@telus.net or leave a message on the Scandinavian Centre Office phone 403 284-2610 if you have any questions or can't sign up online.

Srs Yoga @ Scan Centre

PROGRAM Tuesdays January 10 - June Free Yoga for Seniors @ Scan Centre - Tuesdays 9:30 am - 10:30 am  - requires registration.  Coffee, Cookies and Conversation to follow.  All seniors 60 years + are welcome to participate one day per week - limited to a max 30 persons / class.   Participants need to Register by email before attending a class to confirm if space is available. Scandinavian Choir – 2023

Winter Session starts Wednesdays in January 2023 If you like to sing, come and join our Scandinavian Choir. Learn Nordic folk music and pronunciation at Wednesday practices from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Scandinavian Centre. Youth Choir (7-14 yrs old)

Starts Wednesday, January 25, 2023 Youth Choir for 7 - 14 year olds.   Wednesdays  5:30 pm - 6:45 pm in 2 sessions from Sept to Dec and Jan to May. Here is a fun way to learn to sing, meet people, gain confidence and earn the admiration of parents and family.  Scandinavian Centre 739-20th Ave NW  T2M 1E2.  Minimal cost - sponsored by the Scandinavian Cultural Society.  Pianist and Director will lead the choir and teach/promote basic choral skills. 2023 Sons Of Norway – Lutefisk Dinner

Sat March 4, 2023 - Lutefisk Dinner - Limited 40 Sons of Norway Members / Guests WE NOW HAVE LUTEFISK! An idea from the December meeting is making the lutefisk event an ‘active member’ benefit. Earn a free or lower-priced ticket by participating in the January and February meetings and the February 6th Ski for Light support. Then the proposed dinner and movie would be March 4th in the Valhalla room, capacity 40 guests. Extra lutefisk, available at cost, $30 per 1.75 lb package. Contact secretary@sofncalgary.ca
